Freshford Community shop, The Galleries, welcomed residents from across Bath to a special Solar Information Evening recently, to help raise awareness of the benefits of Solar power and Greener Together – the co-operative way.

The Galleries Shop and Cafe, owned by the communities of Freshford and Limpley Stoke, which has won planning permission for 64 solar panels to go along the top of the field where the shop is situated to generate renewable energy, organised the event to help residents find out more about the benefits of Solar power and Solar energy.

The Solar Information Evening, held at Freshford School Hall, included talks, discussions and a presentation from local solar technology company, Solar Sense - www.solarsense-uk.com as well as short talks on planning issues related to listed buildings and conservation areas by Architect Philip Challinor and parish counsellor Stuart Campbell.

Attendees were able to ask questions and discuss all aspects of installations in terms of costs, actual performance and any other issues or concerns they had, with local organisations that are already using solar power.
